1) Corporate Social Policy
The course examines among others the managerial assumptions and behavioral issues that impede or motivate executives to decide and/or act on good intentions and is designed to create an awareness of the gray areas of ethical business concerns.
2) Principles of Management
This course covers topics that relate to how managers plan, organize, lead and control human and other resources in achieving organizational objectives. Topics such as concepts on decision-making, organizational environment, social responsibility, strategic planning, understanding individual behaviour, group dynamics; leadership, organizational design and structure, and organizational controls will be covered.
3) Principles of Finance
This course covers both the theoretical and analytical of the three major decisions of finance, that is, the Investment, Dividend and Financing decisions. It provides the basic foundation for financial management both in theory and practice.
4) Principles of Marketing
This course is designed to accommodate the needs of understanding marketing from the perspective of a buyer and a seller. Students should come away with this course with an understanding of the marketing system and its role within the economy and within an individual firm and the ability to develop an integrated marketing programme based on a selected segment.
5) Strategic Management
This course covers the process and practice of managerial decision making and implementation that seeks to create and maintain competitive advantage. In essence it determines the long term performance of a business and as such is the role of the senior executive members to refine but the responsibility of all to roll out. Included in the process are comprehensive environmental scanning, strategy formulation (strategic planning), strategy implementation, and monitoring.
6) Organisational Behaviour
To introduce students to the organisational concepts and theories as well as to emphasize on the important aspect of behaviours in organisational settings and how they affect the effectiveness of the organisation.
7) Principles of Accounting
This course will introduce to students the basic elements of accounting such as accounting convention and concepts, types of accounts, double entry bookkeeping, and preparation of simple financial statements
8) Management of Information Systems
The course presents business students with an introduction to information systems and how they improve the organizations today in order to be more efficient and competitive in business.
9) Introduction to Human Resource Management
The course cover topic related to major aspects of how an organization deals with people. Major HRM functions are covered namely in staffing, industrial relations, labour laws, training and development as well as performance management.
10) Marketing Management
This course provides communication, leadership and group working skills through the assignments given to the students. The assignments expose students to analytical thinking and problem solving.
11) Cross Cultural Management
This course insists on the application and analysis of accumulated prior management and entrepreneurial courses over the undergraduate academic years. It covers the application of prior management and entrepreneur courses in a global and cross- cultural perspectives and business environment. It examines the different cultural, geopolitical and economic issues in various foreign countries globally.
12) Social Entrepreneurship
This is a seminar series on Entrepreneurship based on theories, observations, life experiences and the scanning of various literatures available to establish the traits, attitude and entrepreneurial culture with the view to emulate them as life culture.
13) Negotiation and Conflict Management
Students will investigate the theory and practice of using power, analyzing personality traits, assessing conflict, improving communication techniques in problem solving with regards to appropriate strategies, tactics and goals in conflict resolution. This course will also focus on negotiation skills, mediation skills, and students will have an opportunity to explore environmental disputes involving conflicts among stakeholders.
14) Managing Service Operation
This course provides a general introduction to service operations management. This course aims to familiarize the student with the major operational problems and issues that confront managers of services, and provide with language, concepts, insights and tools to deal with these issues in order to gain competitive advantage through operations.
Successful completion of the programme will enable progression into Bachelor in Business Administration (Hons) or Bachelor of Management programme at UNIRAZAK.
Successful completion of this programme will enable participants to obtain positions such as Human Resource Executive/Manager, Training Executive/Manager, Talent Acquisition Executive, Risk Manager, Fund Manager, Investment Analyst, Financial Analyst, Portfolio Manager, Financial Planner/Executive, Advertising & Promotions Manager and Sales & Marketing Executive/Manager.
